Guerilla Music Marketing Handbook
Book Review By Dave Jackson
Author:Bob Baker

I see this book advertised everywhere, so I finally bought it. After reading so many books that dealt in generalities, it was nice to download this book and find it full of specific, and useful ideas (even if you're on a budget). While I was worried the book was going to be a little too "psych" oriented (he brings up affirmations during the planning process). Bob always seems to make a good point. In addition to some good ideas, Bob has plenty of references for you to
check out on the web (and so far I haven't found a dead link yet).

He also gives you some good advice on writing marketing materials.Bob's plan does focus on an organized approach. This includes writing down a plan, as well as topics like using contact management software like ACT! If you need more organization you can use the included worksheets.

Some topics are not exactly revolutionary (under three great ways to create cash if you're in a working band, his first point is to save money from paying jobs). If you're new to booking your band, he has some good basic phone techniques. In fact, Bob seems to cover every aspect of a band. From buying equipment, to selling CD's online, radio airplay, poster designs,
financing a project, and LOTS more (follow the link below to see the table of contents). With this in mind, if you find some pages that you feel "you already knew" keep flipping, and you'll probably find a new twist on an old idea. Bob has been in the business for over 20 years (and still plays in a band himself). When I first saw the $29.99 price, I wasn't sure, but after finding out that the book clocked in at 148 pages, it makes it a good value (that includes some free articles he throws in on the purchase). He is also very quick with a response if you have a question.

In conclusion, there are plenty real life examples of people succeeding in the music biz in this book to spark your creativity (Bob thrives on creativity). If your stuck in a rut, and find yourself thinking, "I need to do something more to get my name out there" I believe you will definitely find some good ideas in this book. For MORE INFO CLICK HERE
